Facebook Tip: Hide Keywords In Comments Section

We’ve all seen tons of spam comments regarding watching live feed links of races posted under race teams, drivers, tracks, businesses Facebook posts.

There is a great tool Facebook created to make these comments hidden so your fans don’t fall for these spam links in the comments.

A die-hard race fan knows the correct way to watch these races, but a passer by fan might not look into it and just go click happy.

I have found this technique helpful, to hiding these annoying comments based on the common “jargin” that is in the post. This works for Facebook pages only, to my understanding.

Here’s the step by step way to hiding unnecessary comments, not just limited to these, but you can include any keywords or terms in this filter.

Step 1. Must be signed into your Facebook page on a Desktop computer.

Example of a spam comment on Facebook.

Step 2. Find privacy option (see red box)

Step 3. Once you Click on Privacy, you will want to find “public posts”.

Step 4. Scroll to the “Hide Comments containing certain words from your page” - You will be able to enter various different key words to this section. I have limited a lot of the consistent words that spammers will use to target and drive traffic to their spam links.
